It is very easy to use and set up and there is a free version. Here is a link. http://www.onecnc.net/products/products_nclink.htm Ken_Shea 01-26-2004, 09:52 PM What kind of distance can one expect for reliable DNC? My Computer is about 30 ft away (as the crow flies) .:D Cable recommendations. Thanks Ken wms 01-26-2004, 10:13 PM Ken, A big crow or small crow?:D Going to run some big programs are we? 30 feet should be no problem. Unless you are running some kind of high voltage equipment in between like say a Nuclear reactor, radar jammer or super dooper blender....... Your'e not are you. :D Just use a shielded cable to be safe. Ken_Shea 01-26-2004, 10:17 PM That would be a medium sized crow. Going to run some big programs are we? Well you know, got that big NASA job coming in and just want to get prepared.:D Thanks Dan B 01-27-2004, 05:56 AM We have good success with XPertDNC. We have been using it for years (since it was called MultiDNC). It has some good editing and backplotting features too. Dan Haas_Apps 02-03-2004, 08:30 AM It is possible to do DNC with HyperTerminal. It is a little tricky though. I would not recommend it. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution be sure it has Xmodem. More information can be found at the following link: http://www.haascnc.com/training/ RBrandes 07-08-2004, 06:12 AM I am using SE-DNC http://www.dncsoftware.com/ I havn't had to use it for drip feed yet, but uploads, downloads and editing are a breeze with both my Haas VF0 and my Nakamura (1987) lathe. I am very happy with it so far. Regards, Ray in FLA ARB 07-08-2004, 03:13 PM Another vote for ONE CNC's NC Link. Easy to use and free. Al_The_Man 07-08-2004, 04:06 PM Cadem http://www.cadem.com/ has a free version for a single link up. Works well also 'Terminal' that came with win3.1 works better than hyperterminal and it runs under later win98 and above. Al |
