Hi Wakeboard,

Yes there are machines available. If you want to bend sheet metal, the machine is called a brake.

For heavier sections, a hydraulic press would commonly be used. This requires a male/female die combination to create an accurate shape. Lots of guys build their own hydraulic press frames, using an inexpensive hydraulic jack to create the needed force.

Take a look in the ENCO 2004 Master catalog page 487. If that doesn't inspire the DIY in you, nothing will. Gee I think I just found another winter project ( Ya think it can be NC'ed ?).

WWW.use-enco.com. They have all sorts of great stuff. Really all you need to do to build a press, is build a rectangle out of extremely stout metal. I-beam would be the most substantial and stout. Build a bracket that sandwiches one side of the ibeam. Sorry, build two of these. a pieace of I-beam goes in between them, and...oh hell, let me draw it up. I'll be back.

Damn! Still can't seem to get a file that is less that 700000 bytes. Anybody got any tips? Well...send me your email address, and I'll email you the drawing.

Hobbiest,
Someone in CNCZone gave me this software tip. Use http://www.irfanview.com/ to change file size and other things, it's a free download.
