Im at the point of purchasing a milling machine and or lathe..Which is the best brand to go with, service, quality, and price are the key points for me.

And the size..is a little bigger than you think you need a good rule to follow. My primary projects are snowmobiles and motorcycles. Ive been looking at grizs g1006 mill drill, and the 12x36 g4005 lathe

Thanks for any input.

For that size projects you want as big as you can afford. Grizzly's have a great reputation. You might also consider looking on ebay for used industrial mills/lathes/edm's if you can transport them yourself. I almost bought an old working industrial EDM for.. get this $200. But id have had to borrowed a LARGE truck and driven 800 miles to pick i up.. plus find a small house to set it up in.

I got my mill and lathe from homier, I had a few problems with the lathe right away, some parts binded up and homier was gonna replace them for me but it was gonna take around 10-14 days for them to get the parts so I ordered them at LMS and they reinversed me. They have great service if you use customer service by e-mail.
