This is the new toolroom mill with full enclosure sold this year. Does anyone own this thing or know of anyone that do. I've always loved Haas until I bought this machine four months ago. Problems are as follow:

1. pc lock at start up
2. doors not align, therefore door sensor not workig
3. can not overide door switch due to bug in software
4. coolant leak everywhere, can't operate without a mop on hand
5. no coolant strainer, chips drops right into coolant tank.
6. coolant tank is only 5 gallons.
7. back lash of .002 on Y axis

I noticed Haas has been lacking quality. They release this machine without spending enough time to go through it. I guess when you are trying to meet the requirement of 1000 machines in one month will reflect quality. Although Haas took care some of the problems, If I could I'd ship this thing back. No wonder everyone is going with Taiwanese made!

I don't know about everyone going to Taiwanese made.

I am in the market for a new VF2 (I currently own a TL-1 and love it). This is the very thing that I am concerned about with HAAS; Slipping quality.

Is 1000 machines a month really that many machines? Its only 33 machines a day in a 24 hour operation with probably the most advanced machine tool manufacturing line in North America.

We all read about the nighmare stories about some HAAS machines, but if they are selling 1000 machines a month then they must have a good record out there in the real world. I do read of more happy customers than unhappy.

I really wish there was a dedicated HAAS forum where ALL the owners frequented so we all could get a accurate reading on this.
