I just bought a CNC lathe and have no experience with generating toolpaths for turning. However, I have been using TC Pro V11 with CAM for milling for more than a year now and it works very well.

My question: Has anyone tried the CAM module with a CNC lathe?

I have a specific problem where I am almost convinced that TC is generating the wrong code for a grooving operation I am programming. It seems to be doubling the depth of cut for each pass which eventually cuts entirely through the part.

It is probably "user ignorance", but I have been working on this for 2 days without success. :drowning:

Please let me know if there are members out there who have CNC lathe experience with TC who are willing to help, and I will post the details of the problem.

Thanks in Advance!

I had problems too. Currently I am using a work around. Torbo cam seems to generate code for a rear post lathe. I have a front tool post lathe. I reversed the X axis in Mach3 and now it cuts parts. I haven't figured out how to go about creating code for both front and rear tools in the same program file. Turbocad's support is non existent. It is a good program but lacks support and cuts a lot of air usually 3 passes. So to actually cut a part I jog to z0 then jog x into touch the material and take a skim cut. Then measure the diameter and enter this diameter as your current X position , jog to a safe position and run your code.

Good luck.

If you figure out the front rear posting please let me know
