Hey everybody. In search of a entry level cad/cam program so to speak, I was recommended to check out Featurecam because of it's ease of use. Despite the fair amount of information I've found online, I have yet to find a clear 'Getting Started Guide' that would speak to someone that is new to CNC machining and Cad/Cam altogether. I would much appreciate any suggestion as to where I could find such literature. Thanks!

Jawful,

When you download FeatureCAM, you also recieve its "Getting Started Guide". Version 13 is the latest and it has the GSG located under the help menu. This guide may assist you in learning FC, but as far as learning CAD/CAM from a beginners perspective, a good background in a Tool & Die shop is the best learning experience for CAM.

Jawful,

I forgot to mention that you can download a full blown version of FeatureCAM from their website: www.featurecam.com

The only thing you can't do is post code or save programs until you pay for the key. Give it a try. It is all wizard driven, just like windows. It's very easy, but very powerful.

As a complete newbee to CAD/CAM I bought FeatureCAM and after a couple of months I am now milling some realtively complex pieces.
There is a getting started book and a user guide on the cd. But the more up to date user guide is on the website.

I also have FeatureCAM 2006 for sale in the classified section on CNC Zone so I guess I do have an interest.
