Under Tool definition/selection on the NC-side of things in BCC, how do you define a ballnose cutter? There are only D and E parameters. Would a 3/16" dia. shank, 3/16" diameter ball nose cutter be: D=0.1875 and E=0.1875 or D=0.1875 and E=.125 (or some formula derived value)?
Thanks,
Rob

That's it! Thanks, can you explain what E actually is please.

E= is the diameter of the tool tip. If you were using a 1/2 Diameter BULL NOSE with a .125 Corner Radius it would look like this:
D=.5
E=.25

Chasing threads! :)
So for a BALL vs BULL nose the E = 0 since the point at the tip is the core diameter - E. I see. Thanks again, Toby.
