Has anyone tried to recycle one for use in a CNC device?

It has been reported to have been done. No feedback on the accuracy, however.

I'd be leary - typically, used door openers have NOT had the best in lubrication and/or preventative maintenance. Hence, uneven wear should NOT be a surprise.
