I need to produce a flat bottom bore on a lathe part. What is the most efficient way to program a boring bar to clean up the bottom of the hole before taking cuts the full length of the drilled hole without cutting air? When I worked in a shop that had all of the programming done in Gibbs, the programmer always bragged about his "stock remaining" option. Anything similar in BobCAD? I am running v20.4.

If the machine has Canned Cycles this is not a problem no matter what CAD/CAM you are using.

Fanuc Basic Control 0T

G71P101Q102U.01W.003D1000F.01>> Here "U" leaves .01 on the Internal Diameter X axis and "W" leaves .003 on the bore bottom in the Z axis.

G71P101Q102U.01W.003D1000F.01
N101G41G0X?
(THIS AREA IS THE PROGRAMMED PROFILE OF THE BORE START N101 AND END N102)
N102G40X?

BCC should be able to do this but I have never tried because with Lathes I use the Canned Cycles G70-G76, G90, G92, and G94.
