Just found you guys by accident. It's amazing the small worlds that are out there that we just don't know about. Never knew this home built CNC stuff even existed until a few days ago; now my mind is about to explode from info overload.
I'm going to start by building one of Crankorgan's routers - the 7th Sojourn.
Here's a tip to anyone using skateboard bearings. I'm a long distance motorcyle rider ( another world out there ) and we tend to do our own maintenance. One thing we often do is our own tire mounting and balancing. Skate board bearings are a favorite part for making wheel balancers. The bearings come pre-greased and that's necessary for relative high speeds and loads. But not for wheel balancing. Less friction is far better. Take some solvent and soak the bearings for a few hours or days to get all the grease out. Then give them a good shot of WD40. This will take a lot of the friction out of them and won't make any difference at slow speeds. Same applies to router applications.
