View Full Version : At China buy RF45 only USD 812
szcharle 08-30-2006, 12:27 PM I buy a RF45 Clone (type ZX7045 at China) 2 weeks ago, I am a Chinese guy at China, the price is 6500 Chinese Yuan(official price of this Fty), about USD 812, amazing price i thinkhttp://www.zjxltz.com/photo/2005323152451295.gif
i just want tell you the price,at China Sieg X3's price higher than this ,X3's price from about USD 840-1000(have some clone factory made this too)
i am trying the CNC conversion now, at a China BBS ,another Chinese Guy successful change a ZX50(almost same as RF45) , and i also learn many thing at here, in future ,I will ask you many many questions :)
it looks same as IH mill ,right?
Ron111 08-30-2006, 02:20 PM czcharle,
Looks good. I look forward to seeing your conversion!! Just let me know how I can help and welcome to the forum!!
Looks like a good machine. I think you got a good deal and it will make a good cnc project.
Good Luck!
Ron
waxhead 08-31-2006, 08:46 AM How did you go on this project
i am looking at the very same mill myself and i would be interested in seeing your conversion pictures
Ron111 08-31-2006, 11:53 AM waxhead,
I don't think that czcharle has done the cnc yet. I don't know if you have seen the Industrial Hobbies web page, but they sell this mill and have the step necessary to do the mechanical portion of the conversion on their web page.

Take a look,
Ron
szcharle 09-01-2006, 04:03 AM yes, I just start the conversion ,so many thing to do! so little time

looks a bit similar with tppjr's right?
tppjr's foto at here
http://imageevent.com/tppjr/rf45dovetailmill;jsessionid=e1dmetcj11.lion_s
my target is make a tppjr's simply clone ,haha
Ron111 09-01-2006, 08:18 AM szcharle,
tppjr's machine is the one to copy. I would love to have tppjr clone myself, his machine is capable of 3000 rpm and has a dual speed motor, if I remember correctly. I really like his spindle cooling mod which makes a good flood cooling four hase system.
I see a couple of motors already on your machine, on the Z and on the Y axis, so how close are you to cutting some chips? What control software are you thinking of using. Your english is very good. What do you do in China, if I might ask?
take care,
Ron
JRouche 09-01-2006, 01:28 PM Very cool to actually have a Chinese (Living in China) person here in the forum. I love seeing the variations between local Chinese products and what is exported.
The head on yours looks completely different (belt drive maybe). Gotta face shot ? (mill not you :p )
Z axis slide looks like it sticks out further.
I wanna see that chain counterweight too, first for me.
And some shots of the shop too, very interesting.
Thank you so much for coming to the group. You are welcome to post as many pics as necessary. I would like to see the entire mill.
Thanks again, JRouche
Oh yeah Charles, that bear you like, its called "winnie the pooh" FWIW
szcharle 09-02-2006, 02:39 AM thanks for reply
but ,that ZX50 CNC conversion is not made by me! that is another Chinese guy's ,i just post at here for reference, hehe
maybe my english not very good cause you think like this, sorry! :)
here some other pic that about his machine.
that website is mine, due to he post his photo at a china CNC bbs, i upload those foto to my own website.

szcharle 09-02-2006, 03:03 AM my english is so so,hehe ,i have 6 year data comm job experience, such as router and lanswitch, configure them, but now i am self employed, i do some home made electronic products for industry purpose :)
q:Very cool to actually have a Chinese (Living in China) person here in the forum. I love seeing the variations between local Chinese products and what is exported.
a:almost same ,except price :) , the same model number lathe or mill made by same fty is same, the price maybe some cheap if we buy at China, but for some special sell products at US ,even cheap than China! for example i saw some website, X1 only USD 250!
but one thing i should mention is the Sieg's black and red series products in some Chinese DIYer's eye, thinking them as a toy, even C6 or X3 or Super X3, but RF45 or ZAY7045 or ZX7045 or ZX50(almost same products) is for industry purpose, heavy duty( heavy duty not mean high precision :)
Q:The head on yours looks completely different (belt drive maybe). Gotta face shot ? (mill not you ,yes not mine :) )
A: that kind of head fit both belt or gear, the fty maybe a bit lazy, same box different type, for belt only ,it a bit waste :)
Z axis slide looks like it sticks out further.
origin Z screw is changed from T type screw to ball screw, all X Y Z changed
my mill (ZX7045) main axis motor only single speed,
This factroy located in our province, and we have been contact them before,we find them machines not good looking becuase of motor,we discuss with them use same as Sieg motor or converted by ourself in future.after BF machiens,i think we will converted them too.
Hi,Szcharle, your are in Shenzhen???i will be shenzhen next week ,really interesting look your machines.hehe..
