A newbie problem, I think, but I could not find something in the help, tutorials, and I have not sat through the whole video tutorial yet.

I am creating a brick building facade. The windows in the building have a brick pattern across the top in an arc. I think I need to create some closed paths and then distribute them along an arc. Unfortunately, I have not found an easy way to do this.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Todd

I am not a mason but this seems like a fun thing to do. Try to post a pic for what you want and I'll play around to see what we can come up with. I live in NY so there are too many bricks to choose from, not to mention that most of them aren't real bricks these days.

For now here are a few ideas.

Draw your brick at X0 Y0 Z0. Then translate it to the radial point Y+36 inches and Rotate a Copy (7) Z5.0 degrees or so.

Here are a few dxf files of a basic arch.

Welcome to the Zone.

BCC has a Support Forum of their own as well. http://216.117.147.20/bobcadsupport/forums/index.php

Yes! That's what I was going for!!!

Great help.

I'm doing an 1920's Chicago theme, though NY is similar.

I've attached a window clip from an alley in 1920. Your first file is closest to this. I'll post something when I get it right.

Thanks for the help!

I will post to the BobCad forum as well. This was _too_ easy. I thought I was thinking about this too hard. I'll post my window files when I get done as well.

Things like that can happen from time to time. I saw your post in the BCC Forum. You can also Post in the Share your Files Art or Part.

Here's the final part. Note I'm building 1/64th scale stuff so the rotate method uses /64 for all of the dimensions!
