ZipSnipe 08-27-2006, 11:12 PM Welcome Marc, I see you want to mill hardwoods and at 3000 rpm the wood will not have a good finish( I know I tried with mine, it does cut fine but you need to sand it) anyway I don,t know what to tell you about the Sherline or the Taig, I used a mini mill head with R8 spindle(tooling is cheaper and easy to find) on my mill http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18992 It is a lot of work and ready for this I,m upto $745 in build cost and still not really finished but I,m able to use the mill. Its been a fun project and I still plan on getting a bigger mill in the future. If your using a table like mine you will discover that it is very sloppy and I plan on eventually cnc'ing it and redoing the xy table. Good luck and post some pics. insttech1 08-28-2006, 10:33 AM . insttech1 08-28-2006, 10:42 AM . insttech1 08-29-2006, 10:41 PM . |
