well i'm still fairly new here but i have been brushing up on building CNC routers and the various components. I'd really love to build one, lol, but it's still a bit over my head though i think i'm approaching that level.
I was wondering if anyone would mind guestimating some stuff for me? My biggest concern is pricing because i'm a college student, cash is always farly tight for me. I'm wanting to build a CNC with a 24 x 48 inch fixed table. i want this thing to be able to cut 1/16 inch aluminum. As far as the computer to connect, i'm a Computer Science major so i have a few old spare computer laying around. But as far as everything else... I think 3 axis's would be enough for all i want. Also since i'm planning to cut metal, i'm assuming i should also have a metal frame.
What do you all suspect it would cost me to build a CNC that fits those rough specs?
Also i'd need a router, what one would you guys reccomend? I've seen bosch appear frequently, so i'm already leaning in that direction.
Any kind of help would be really great. And when i do start this project you can bet that i'll for sure be posting my progress on here.
