My R2E3 is giving me an Error 0040, "system fatal error" when I try to load a program from a remote computer. The machine had been working fine for the past 3-4 months after I got it setup then suddenly I got this error today and can't get rid of it. I tried resetting the machine multiple times, no help. I checked power to the EMC board as the manual suggests, power is fine. Anybody have any ideas as to what to do next?

Look in the manual in the chapter called troubleshooting. Look for the error list. In the third set, look at error 4. That should tell you more specifically what your problem is. I do not have a manual with me.
Have you tried clearing the memory? Since it started during data transfer. Have you transfered programs before this?
