I am currently making garden decor out of copper. Want to start adding copper leaves, butterflys, dragonflys, etc. What would be the best machine to buy to stamp these out of 16 to 24 gauge copper. Want to emboss the leaves, etc. so they look real. Production would be low at 1,000 of each or less a year.
Who supplies dies. machine, etc... for such a project.

YOU WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE DIE MADE, AND I WOULD RUN THEM ON A MULTI SLIDE OR FOUR SLIDE, THEN YOU COULD ADD MORE SHAPE TO THEM

One interesting technique that I witnessed once, was a hobbyist jewellery maker plying his craft. He had a cute little roller mill, with 2 rolls about 2" diameter and 4" long. He sandwiched a tree leaf between two pieces of brass sheet, and rolled it through the mill with a hand crank. I figured nothing would happen, but actually, all the veins and outlines of the leaf were very distinctly embossed in the brass, kind of like a fossil in a rock. I was amazed.

The mill applied sufficient force to actually decrease the thickness of the stock in this process.

It might be something that you could adapt into a process for your needs.

That method works fine for leaf foil but I doubt it would work for 24 gauge and heaver. Placing a butterfly in such would be messy. :eek:
