Hi all just thought I would share a pic of my controller box almost done. I still have to buy some cable to run to my steppers and figure out how to wire my e stop button but I think this is right. If anyone can see a problem please point it out so I can fix it before I let the magic smoke out. Oh I forgot I will be adding a fan also

thank you

Rob

Very nicely done, Truman.

How about some details for everyone that is looking to make their own power supply and enclosure. Would you mind sharing the transformer specs, what bridge rectifier your using, capacitor size, enclosure dimensions and driver board used? Any information on part sources and cost would also help the electronically challenged.

I've been a member of CNCzone for almost 2 years and it's amazing how many people ask the same power supply questions. Maybe you could document or further elaborate on your supply to help some others along.

Thanks for sharing!

well the supply is 24V 10A transformer and the cap is 40000uf the bridge rectifier I can't even remember exactly what the specs are on it trust me I am one of the electrically challenged my bleed resister is too small but it works slowly when I power it up I get about 34.4VDC. my power supply information was from www.pminmo.com Phil is a great guy and will help you out as much as he can. the driver board is a 3 axis bipolar microstepping arcsin from www.buildyouridea.com Dave is another really nice guy. I did build my own three axis drive from Phils site but wasn't satisfied with the power restrictions so I purchased the arcsin I will use the other drives on another project if I ever get this one finished. the enclosure was given to me from a friend it had various little gadgets inside allready all the really good stuff removed of course but I salvaged the nice little fuse holders doesn't it look like I knew what I was doing LOL I have learned a great deal on this site but I still have a way to go having fun all of the way.
