I was thinking about using duals like rmtucker but need some input. It's for a 24x24 table.

I'm having problems with mine. I think one leadscrew/one motor per axis is the way to go.

I have heard if you go dual screws you should do it with one motor, and a belt.

I agree with the one motor approach. If you use twice the power in one motor, you can probably use the same power supply, and only one driver, cable etc... and it's mechanically sync'ed, so any lost steps or backlash in the belts wouldn't affect squareness, only position. Any reduction in the motor to screw speed could be done with the one belt by changing the pulleys on the screws or the motor pulley. I think it's a lot simpler and less prone to problems than trying to sync 2 motors electrically.

How wide of a table would you guys say is the limit before you would need two lead screws. I'm thinking something along the lines of 36" or so. What are some other factors for wanting a dual lead screw setup?
