when i try to drill like a 1/2 inch hole threw a 1/2 inch plate the feed doesnt work. its has 1 1/2, 3 and .006 thousanths of feed per rev. even when i have it on 1 1/2 all it does is click by that little box that sticks out, like its not catching a gear.
if anyone knows how to fix it or what might be wrong i would love to know how to fix it.

This is usually preset at the factory to give a force of 200 pounds. It is deceiving at the end of the quill handle as to how much force this is as one can easily slip the quill feed clutch. The EZTRAK Z axis is rated for a 3/8 inch drill in mild steel. i would not be surprised if the same applies to this quill feed but Bridgeport never issued such a similar limitatiuon. The clutch slip force can be adjusted by removing that can on the left end of the head and finding inside the spring that regulates this and putting more force on it. Putting a bathroom scale on the table and the spindle against a bearing in a housing on top of the scale, one can check this force and adjust it correctly.

Abusing the quill power feed with large drills is not wise, as when you need to bore a precision hole the clutch my slip and ruin your final bore!
The Power feed is not designed to be used for drilling, thats what the rack and pinion handle on the side is for!
A 1/2" drill can be feed at much faster a feed rate than the quill feed can provide!
