I have been considering building a small (12"x12" max) CNC machine, and I have a few questions:

Will a single speed dremel make a good cutting head?

http://cnclinx.stores.yahoo.net/steppermotors.html would three of the $13 stepper motors work well for the control?

http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/29/how-to-build-your-own-cnc-machine-part-1/ how good is the design of that machine?

And finally, how much would the accurarcy of the machine suffer if I made it out of baltic birch instear of plastic?
