I have a query for anyone out there

Have you ever heard of Blind Teeth, or more like cutting teeth in a part which also has an internal wall.

Let me explain.

You have a tube lets say, 20mm OD with a 2mm wall (16mm bore)

You have 36 teeth lets say cut around this at 90 degrees on the face. Normally these would be cut straight through, so they look like the end of a "christmas cracker". But now imagine they have an internal wall of say 1mm, so the teeth are only on the outside diameter of 1mm wide (the teeth would be 20mm OD and 18mm ID, leaving a wall of 18mm OD and 16 ID, but all machined from one piece, not glued in or anything).

Has anyone ever seen this, if so does anyone know how to do it. Or would it be better to add a picture???????

If the picture in my mind matches what you are describing I think this is a job for EDM or ECM using a graphite form tool. I guess you could call it a graphite broach which removes the material electrochemically not physically.
