Hello,
Please help me to identify the type of controller I have. The milling machine is a Bridgeport series II n/c built in 1974, based upon the serial #. This will be my first cnc retrofit. What I am wanting to do is use the original drivers and steppers to be controlled by mach 3. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is not a BOSS machine. This is as you said a NC2A. An NC machine did not have a memory for the program to be stored. It ran a tape and had a one line buffer. Yes, it has stepping motors and a air over oil quill mechanism called a "spindle wizard." The Z axis is the knee. The connectors on the side of the control cabinet is for the C5 and C6 option that conveted this to a CNC.

I have one of these but did not know what model it was. It appears you have two drive cabinets. Mine had a roll around desk with some controls on it also. You can hook Mach3 to it.

In your picture with the open door the board to the left with the little blue wires leaving it, these are the wires to control X,Y & Z axis. The difference between this and the BOSS machines are:
1 The output transistors are on a plug in board.
2 It runs on 120vac single phase (high current riquirement)

My breakout board works great with these.
