hello everybody.
i have a ridgid ram boss 6. i use a M4 centroid controller. all the boards and motor fuses have been pulled out of the BP controller cabinet. i've run this mill since 1998 and recently had to repair the x axis board. it been down a year now but i'm ready to put back into service. now that the controller works we tried to start the mill. nothing, won't energize the override limit switch to give power to spindle control. now the mill ran fine when i took the controller off but now it won't.
i have gone thru what i think is everything
all voltages are good, the MOL is not the problem, all the fuses test good and i replaced the F4 fuse for gp reasons. one thing i did notice is the fans up in the BP controller cabinet are not running either. [i've got a boss 5 which i'm exchanging parts with for testing]
i first thought it was the auto way luber but it is ok as well the wire 223 runs to the mol and shows a connection. i have exchanged the CR3, CR5, MOL, FU1,2 & 3. the table is not up against a Limit Switch. i have removed the F13,14 & 15 (stepper axis fuses)but i removed all the other fuses as well. i just don't remember if the machine was working or not when i did it. (i'll put them back in except the F13, 14 & 15) just for the heck of it.
the only thing i need is to get the spindle control working the M4 works just great.
i've been reading post and replies on this forum and it's clear you guys a very well informed so i'm sure someone can push me in the right direction. i know it's going to be something so simple and so obvious that i'll kick myself when i read it.
