View Full Version : Demo problem CNCadmin 03-29-2003, 12:17 AM I loaded the lathe demo and when I start the program, it crashes and closes. I'm using win XP. Any ideas? wms 03-29-2003, 12:34 AM I'll load the lathe demo right now on windows xp and let you know. Stay tuned wms 03-29-2003, 12:46 AM Loaded the demo off the disk to xp and it works fine. Might be a bad file on the server or your down load went bad. wms 03-29-2003, 12:23 PM Paul, Were you able to load the Demo file I sent you. And does it open up ok? steveg50 03-29-2003, 04:14 PM You may have a video driver problems . I have used OneCnc for a couple of years. Are you using a Nvidia Card? wms 03-29-2003, 04:24 PM Steve, I too had a small problem with an Nvidia card. Had to set the color to 16 or 24 bit instead of 32. But I could always open the program. The problem was after doing some work and then rendering. Called Mike at OneCNC and he let me in on the color bit setting thing. After that no problems. Did you find something different to do? Are you using a different card? Please tell us more so we may learn from what you found out. steveg50 03-29-2003, 04:43 PM I have a Geforce 4200 card . I had talked to Mike a couple of times but could only run the older drivers (30.82) . I got the idea of running the " Quadro " Drivers (42.82) . Once I did that I had no problems at all and I'm running 32 bit color. We also use ATI 9000 pro cards at work ($80.00) and they work great . wms 03-29-2003, 04:53 PM Steve, Thanks, that's good info. I too am running a Geforce 4200 card. I'll try the " Quadro " drivers. Gald to have here!:D CNCadmin 03-29-2003, 08:50 PM Originally posted by wms Paul, Were you able to load the Demo file I sent you. And does it open up ok? Same problem, I tried lower to 16bit, still no good. OneCNC 03-29-2003, 09:21 PM CNCAdmin The only reason (ever) a OneCNC demo will not run after proper install is due to a video card driver that has an issue with OpenGL (We are OpenGL certified) in their driver or its the wrong driver/out of date driver. A great way of determing video card driver conflicts is to boot your computer in safe mode (Windows loads only their generic "default" drivers.) The demo should now run, and if so, its time to hunt down new drivers for that card. CNCadmin 03-29-2003, 10:50 PM Here it is steveg50 03-30-2003, 10:06 AM Looking at your error message you can see that you are running Nvidia Drivers 40.72 . Late last year I tried those and could not run OneCnc software . See my last post above. Go here http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=certified_winxp to get the newest drivers . http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_43.45 this last link is very latest . I just tried them and they work fine. I am running Windows XP also. If you need help let me know . |
