Hi all i have a 250 lathe and when i am engaging the quill after positioning the tailstock it.

The quill comes out engages into the part with plenty of travel left, but just sits there then after 15secs it alarms out saying time out.

Is there a setting or poximity switches im missing cheers

mabe the parameters are set for switches and you dont have them. Check the keep relay parameter list from your machine builder, I think you should be able to see something there..

Cheers, i got it sorted now im new to the daewoo machines, i found that they have prox switches in side the tail stock. So set them correct and all is good.

Honk,

With the internal prox. switches, in the past I set them so that if I pick up the tailstock with a specific tool, I can then program the machine to rapid the tailstock to the same location to the face of the part in relation to that tool! As long as you reference that tool and use the same center, it can save you time.
