We manufacture threaded washers made out of c360 free cutting brass. My customer wants to know if this particular grade of brass complies with RoHS standards (restriction of hazardous substances). I have found some sites that discuss soldering, but not a whole lot of info on the material itself. i have contacted my supplier, he didnt know what rohs was. I believe these standards take effect in Europe on July 1, 2006. Could someone point me in the right direction.

From what I have read, RoHS standards allow 4% of th content of brass to be lead.

Page 7, Schedule 2, #6. Up to 4% as an alloying element in copper.

according to the paperwork i just received, c360 brass contains less than 4% lead meeting the RoHS requirements. if my scanner was working i would post the doc.
