Ok so I finally have the cnc disease. All I can think about is how to build and use it. But as anything I seem to jump into I have no clue what I am doing. I have better than standard wood working skills but my technology department lacks very much. My intentions are to learn what I can to become perficent with wood. i.e. make signs, small wooden projects, ect. When I fill a little more comfortable I will move or buy another kit to install on my bench top mill.

I plan on using the Xylotex 3 axis kit, and Jgro plans. I will probably not modify anything just because he seems to have a proven design. Now come the question that I need help with.

As I see it in my head right now, I first need to draw up what I want to make. I have now on my computer Alibre, A9CAD and Sketchup Pro5.
From this I need to save it as a dwg or dxf file. (I think this is CAD?)

Now I need a Dxf to Gcode converter or creator. I dont have one right now but if you guys have any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

From Gcode I need to goto a Cam program? Which I have Mach 3 on my computer. I have started to watch all the videos he has up on his site. I will say that he makes it look so easy I just learned how to turn the warning light off.

So hopefully I am on the right track. Suggestion, Comments are greatly welcomed. Im sorry if this is a repetive question. I have read almost all the forums and it seems like everyone has a grasp on the Software just have trouble with woodworking. I am the complete opposite.
Also if there is a good thread or an Idiots Guide to the process. Please post. I do not have a problem reading up before I ask more boring questions. Thanks for you time guys. Josh
