Is there a trick or a legitimate way to run a cut part render and watch the G code at the same time? I have a desk top Mini-mill that will run the program while simoultanousley displaying the G-code on each move.

No, because the G-Code is not processed yet, it's still in machine code. If you want to verify while looking at G-Code there are third party apps that will do this.

Rekd,
Could you give me an example of where I can find one?
Thanks!!

Try Vericut, or Preditor. There's a few others as well. Cadcam knows the ins and outs of them better than me.

Another option is to use a backplotter. (It reads gcodes and displays the toolpath, but not rendered.)

Moose,
Did you go to the Gibbs 2004 seminar yet?

Rekd,
MetaCut should do that too, right?

I know..... you guys just didn't want to sound like Master Cam guys while on the Gibbs page :D :D

I'm doing well. On vacation (a much needed one) the next week and a half to hunt. (After seminar tomorrow)

Been doing some Iscar tool tests. Kinda fun. Bought a 8xD
ChamDrill that paid for itself in a couple parts. Checking out new HeliPlus (http://www.cncgurus.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=841&start=20) and FeedMill soon

Yes I went to the 2004 rollout in Wisconsin, I'm really excited about all the enhancements...But I feel that the option I'm speaking of would be awesome to those who read G-code as well as others read a book. Also, just in case you guys are interested...we also resell autodesk products and provide solid modeling....check out our website and visit us especially if you guys use AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop or Inventor..www.d3technical.com

I agree with Hardmill the Metacut is a great tool for 3axis gcode.

I have used Metacut,Vericut & Predator VCNC all have there places and good software.

Along with Metacut on the full version is the option for communications.

I downloaded the trial version and it works pretty good, the only drawback is that it doesn't work for Lathe parts....any suggestions?
