i am looking into new software for my cnc mini mill i use turbocnc now but want things like cutter comp and more i love turbocnc for my lathe with threading will leave that alone so back to the mill is emc2 easy to set up i have a p3 733 mhz with 256 meg ram with clean hard drive ready for emc2 can you now change the pinouts for your stepper driver board you could not on the older emc software thats why i never tried it (is it stable)thanks i do not want to goto mach3 with windows do not trust it

I used EMC and yes you could change the pinouts for the driver boards, because the pins are different on the HobbyCNC board which i use and they start out like 3,2 5,4 7,6 other boards run numbers in sequence.

I switched to windows in mach3 because of it running smoother and a little better to me than EMC, If you do the opt. file it makes windows run bare min. and is very stable.
