What is the maximum torque your motors can dish out in your DIY CNC machine?

Less
4-524 oz/in (0.028248-3.700488 Nm)
525-1048 oz/in (3.70755-7.400976 Nm)
1049-1574 oz/in (7.408038-11.115588 Nm)
1575-2100 oz/in (11.12265-14.8302 Nm)

Well, my mini-mill will reach 269 ounce-inches when I get it all assembled :D

1760oz-in at 3000 revs/s.

(12.4N-m)

Enough to throw my bridgeport's table around at 550IPM and faster. =)

480 lb/ft at just 450 rpm direct drive max rpm is 10000 with 50hp 30min rating

Wow, that's some amazing motor! What kind rapids do you get with such a motor? How big is the ballscrew (or rack/pinion) connected to it?

it's actually a spindle motor on a FH8800 mazak. I know, not exactly what the author of this thread was after but...
as for the axis drives max rapid is 1620 ipm max pallet weight is 6200 lbs. pallet included

I'd imagine something like that would keep moving if the power failed whilst it was rapiding...crunch.

Well acctually it dosen't. It'll stop on a dime.

Of course, you DO know that maximum torque of a stepper is when that stepper is standing still? Torque decreases as RPM increases.

Compared to THAT monster, my Grizzly SX3 is tiny. I am sporting 425 Oz/in motors on X and Y and 1200 Oz/in on the Z axis.

The one i'm doing right now? Well, 15HP servo nominal, high gain, low RPM. I think the number was 600 ft lbs at max current at 480VAC. Table thrust was about 15,000 lbs.
