I'm starting to build a smallish (36"x24") CNC gantry. It's my intention to make several "heads" whereas I can use both a dremel as well as my Miller 375 plasma cutter.
Anyway, I spent most of the evening turning lead screws on my lathe which turned out fairly nice if I may say so, however I have to acquire either two cogs and a belt, or two gears and a chain to connect the leadscrews on both sides of the machine for each of the directions.
Might anyone know offhand of an affordable place to purchase such items? I got really lost in the McMaster-Carr website. What do you folks use?
The second question I have relates to stepper torque. Do you think 270 oz of torque is enough, or did I undersize my steppers?
Thanks in advance for answering questions that probably were asked 200 times already :D
Regards,
Midiguy
