We recently purchased a used brake press at work and are having some issues getting it set up. Initially we had some computer related issues but think we have them solved.
Our main problem now is that we're not familiar with how the controller "should" work
We do have the manual and are having the usual "translation " issues

We're also baffled by the Y axis value given after calibration(~4.5 ") I have run other CNC machines before and the position value after calb just doesn't look right to me.
Needless to say we cannot get the machine to run a program but we "may" have some setting wrong. I "think" I have figured out what the mute point is and how it relates to the geometry of the die/machine but we just need someone with expereince to give us those few last tips to get us going. There aren't many people wround that seem too familiar with this machine/control

Any help appreciated

Cheers

if you move the Y-axis to its limits and confirm the positions you can have this problem, but you can fill in the limits by hand and confirm them,If you still now the old values put them in manualy. check the potentio meter resistance on the ram axis ( go up the machine at CNC side between oil tank and Ram) it has to be 5Kohm, look also if the chain and pignon are correctly mounted so the cilinders can reach max upper and lower min position,

the difference in value min-max is, I think about 70 mm for a 150ton pressbrake . this means a stroke between 0 and 100mm

good luck
