We are having some very interesting issues arising when using Mazatrol programming on our Integrex 200-IIIS. So far factory has been unsuccesful in explaining them or resolving them.

Anyone else out there "twisting in the wind" and not getting any answers? Look forward to hearing from you. (chair)

Our company has 2 mazaks and will never buy another. Out of the 10 different brands of CNC machines we have thier customer service is the worst. We are 45 mins from their facilities in Florence Ky and have a hell of a time getting any help. (chair)

Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply. What machines are you using that are causing you the headaches? And are the problems confined to just one type of control? I've got so many things going on with mine it's hard to find a starting point.

Thanks for the reply. What machines are you using that are causing you the headaches? And are the problems confined to just one type of control? I've got so many things going on with mine it's hard to find a starting point.

We have a FF-510 with Fanuc 16i control. Many times this machine has picked up the wrong tool and crashed. After 1 1/2 years of this I finally found information online, changed a keep relay to select sequential tool change vs. random and havent had a problem since. Out of several dozen calls and even a few visits from Mazak not one of them ever suggested this. I was sure to call the service department and let them know what fixed the problem, the tech support guy I spoke with was surprised no one had offered this info earlier.
The other one is a VMC-3016 with Mazatrol 640 control. We have has numerous problems with hard drive going bad, video card bad, and have replaced the I/O board that interfaces the Hyd system go out 4 times. We are currently having another problem and running the machine in a modified state. see this thread
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20036
(disclaimer: I in no way had anything to do with this modification.)
The service guys have been onsite for 3 days with no solution. They believe the NC Ladder file is corrupt but no one has a copy of the original.

About 2 years ago we were in a bad situation with delivery times on the parts we run on the FF-510. I started calling Mazak around 4pm on a Friday. Several calls were placed by one of our Japanese Engineers to thier engineering section but still could not get help. On Saturday morning we ended calling another machine builder and they sent 2 guys to help with the Mazak. It had a Yaskawa drive go bad. We had the replacement but did not have the programming pendant. They came down with the pendant and helped set the new drive up. Service goes a long way when I get to put my $.02 in on which machine we should buy.

I hope my experiences are not the norm for Mazak. I do know the FF-510 with Fanuc control that we have was the first one in US so its kinda like buying the first cars of a new model.

I saw the "modified" button earlier today, any port in a storm they say. I like the no bailing wire comment.

I don't believe we are the only ones in our situation when it comes to service. I can be reached at: cadidilhopper@yahoo.com if anyone wants to compare notes.

I'm new to this Mazatrol language and I'm not getting much help in the way of training... I'm working with a Mazak SQT28 Lathe using Mazatrol T32-3 control. Does anyone know where I can find a programming manual online? I have issues with the Boring cycles and I don't have the right manual to help me decipher it.

Thanks,
Smeeed

I'm not sure about your T32-3 control. We are on a 640MT-PRO and it's the only Mazak control I've been on. My advise is to contact the local Mazak rep and find out if or when they might be putting on a LATHE training class. I went to one and it did help. I got a little concerned when the Mazak tech kept turning to me after explaining something and telling me "your machine is a little different". Ours is an Integrex 200.

Good luck,
billder

We have mazak 200 IIS with MT640Pro controller.
Mazak just upgraded the controller software 5 months ago.
We use Griffo brothers Camlink ( www.griffobros.com ) for offline programming, It give us huge saving compare to programming directly at the machine.
You can send me a .pbb file, so we can try to solve the problem.

We have a older QT10 and a Hurco BMC 30. The Mazak support sucks and the Hurco is excellent. I know our machine is older, but the way I look at it, If you ever want me to buy one of your new machines you should probably help me keep the older one running. Sometimes if I call for assistance, they don't even call back. (chair)

hi.

I'm new to this so please forgive me if I ask stupid questions in the wrong place.

I am looking for the protocol used by a MAZAK based machine to accept mazatrol programs. I need to know what is sent over the rs232 (serial port) and when.

Is there some guide for that? where can i find it?

(Motivation: I want to write a piece of software that sends/accepts mazatrol programs to/from a cnc machine. Existing software do not suit my needs)

Thanx

We have 12 Integrex machines trying to get help from mazak was not easy when we bought the first one. I usually here "we'll call you back" and they never do. I run a 100ST a 200ST and Multiplex mostly in Mazatrol. There is a new Forum started this week just for Integrex machines. http://integrexmachinist.com/

Hello Friends.

Have any of you ever asked Mazak for a post processing solution? There is a company by the name of ICAM technologies that might be able to help with the programming of the machines.

Please visit their website. http://www.icam.com/.

They work with the following CAD/CAM Systems:

Catia,UG,PRO/E MasterCam

or give them a call
