For months I,ve been checking these forums and really getting revved up about machining as a hobby and as a second business. During this time I,ve heard these awesome deals that some members had found at garage sales. Well finally i make it to a garage sale that advertised machinst tooling. (I have a 9x20 lathe and was in dire need of set up tools) Well I walk up and I see an one old guy and I see a lady (I,m early)looking at some stuff, I walk by not really seeing what she was about to buy and I hear her asking how much and the old guy said $90 and she replies I,ll give you $60. Well the stuff she was getting was in boxes, lots of boxes and as I waited politely for the gentleman to finish his transaction I ask him about the machinist tooling and turns and points at the lady who is loading boxes upon boxes of stuff and said she just bought the whole lot. I now take a closer look and see that she just made out like a bandit with everything I needed, indicators with magnetic bases, parallels, squares,Starlet scraper, endmills galore...probably over $400 in tooling for $60 and it looked like it had been well cared for. I walk away GROWLING at the lady and hop into my van driving away crying.. can ya guys feel for me...(Whaaa,Whaaaa) I don,t have enough tissues here at my house

And you didn't offer to buy the goods from the lady for more than what she paid?

That early in the morning - Gaurenteed she was a dealer of some sort.

Better luck next time. Don't be polite - start a bidding war if you need to ;)

Cheers
