I ran into this machine today (not literally). I know the company that supplies them with the scanner, so I thought I would check out the site. Amazing what can be done with a CNC foam cutter!

It is a phenomenal piece of hardware/software for a fairly reasonable price (industrial wise not hobby!). We use it to scan carvings and reproduce them in wood.

I was talking with the owner of Scantech this morning and found out that Streamline is the new exclusive distributor in North America. That is how I stumbled upon the site.

Does the scanner do a single plane scan or does it do arcs in a few different directions?

Yes and no! How is that for an answer!

The unit we have only does flat plane, but the new units can do arc scanning as well. It is a software upgrade we never made. If you go onto their website you can see the info on arc scanning. If you have any questions, email them. Claus it the president and will answer you right back.
