I have just uploaded a small Vacuum bed for anyone interested in making one.
It is not a Venturi type but tradditional suction.
As usual pictures and Gcode available.

Hi CNCRob
Sorry I forgot to put the link!
There is a picture of my Vacuum unit on the example page along with the Gcode and pictures showing it being made at http://www.cncdudez.com
It is not an over powerfull with 1kw motor and 53 Litre a second Air Flow but does the job.

Sean.

That's a clean looking job, I think I will take a crack at that.
Thanks for the code.

Are the holes tapered for easy plugging of the uncovered holes with rubber stoppers?

Hi Eric
The holes are just straight through and not tapered.
But that is not a bad idea, where would you get little rubber stoppers from?
At the moment you can just use masking tape to cover any unused holes or even paper if holding down material for engraving.

Actually, it would be easier to make them yourself by mixing up some ReproRubber casting material, as it should follow the contour and not stick to the smooth surfaces!

The taperd holes are easily made in a drill press, using a 1/8 tapered pipe reamer !
They can be found in hardware stores, or ordered online from Enco
Then you get a perfect seal!

Hi Eric
Thanks for the link, that looks interesting stuff to play with and would indeed to the job.
Might look at something like that in the future.
