I think that I remember seeing a proceedure for tightening up any play between the column and the Z saddle. I thought it was on the IH website but I can't locate it. I can fix the problem but I hate re-inventing. I'd like to see someone else's solution first.
Thanks,
Jerry

I recall there being a machined bushing kit detailing the bushing made to tighten up the coupler between the z-axis saddle and the ballscrew. It's still there on the site somewhere. From what I recall the coupler is sent to Aaron who machines it to accept the ball screw (cnc conversion) and tosses in the bushing which really tightens things up. I hope that helps. If you find anything else out please post it.

Its under "Tips & How to..." and then there is a link at the top of that page, mill tips can be found "Here". Hit "Here". Then you will see "Lathemaster Slide Modification" at the bottom.

I have this mod on my Lathemaster mill, there was a good .015 inch slop in the stock Lathemaster bushing, this mod took care of that.
