Hello,
I work in the toolroom for a hand tool manufacturer.
We are in the market for a new toolroom cnc mostly for
prototype work. I use ONECNC for programming the
Bridgeport Explorer we currently use. Unfortunately we
are on a tight budget, so if you could limit the recomendations
to a machine that can be purchased with a tool changer for
around $30,000.00 I woul appreciate it. Looking forward to
your responses.

Thanks,
Tim

I'VE DONE TOOLROOM AND PROTO TPYE FOR YEARS THE MACHINE I LIKE THE BEST FOR YOUR PRICE RANGE WOULD BE A PROTOTRAK DPM X40 Y 20 ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT HAVE A TOOL CHANGER THE SIZE WORK IT CAN HANDLE MAKES UP FOR THAT YOU CAN ALSO BUY USED THIS MACHINE CAN DO SO VERY GOOD 3D WORK ALONG WITH 2D MACHINING THE HAAS TOOLROOM MILL HAS SOME DRAW BACK THE Y TRAVEL (12") IS VERY SMALL BUT YOU HAVE A TOOL CHANGER THE FEED IS ALSO VERY SLOW 7.5 IPM THAT IS A MAJOR DRAWBACK TO THE HAAS HERE A LINK LOOK AT USED

The Haas toolroom mill can go 200 ipm. That is slow but there is a thread on here about upping that by 50 %. Maybe find a used one with a toolchanger and play with uping the rapids and the spindle speed a little.
Not sure on price but a HUrco takes up little floor space, no handwheels though.
