Okay, I'm doing something wrong here...
No matter what speed I configure my pieces to be cut at, Mach 3 seems to default to an absolute feed rate. I've been experimenting with various feed rates, ranging from 5ipm to 20ipm and Mach3 never budges from some internally-set rate. For example, yesterday I wrote a little piece of code that would shift from 5ipm on a roughing operation to 20ipm for the final finish. I watched the code scroll by, the display showed it had changed, but Mach3 never sped up.
For a while now, I've been just setting arbitrary rates to see what happens, but then when I actually run the mill, I manually change the % feed on the screen to change the feed rate. But this isn't good - I need to change the rate from within the code.
Is there somewhere in Mach3 that a default of some sort overrides the code and sets a default feed rate? This software is so complex that I feel like I'm just ignorant about some setting somewhere
Any ideas here?
Thanks,
Mark
