hey guys,
im trying to piece together parts for an IH mill retrofit. i came across some pittman 319oz-in motors and was wondering if they would have enough torque for milling of aluminum. i was originally going to gear my servos down to the ballscrescrew (5tpi) at 2-1, but had planned on motors around 400-500oz-in. i was wondering if gearing the 319oz down at 1-2.5 or 1-3 would gize me the torque i need without really slow feed rates or if i should just wait to get some higher torque servos. any information helps...
thanks,
-rene
