waiting. The suspense is killin' me here. :D
Does anyone know if improvments wre made to material data files. You know....something to fix the crappy speeds and feeds you get when push the "Speed" ans "Feed" buttons in a process window. I have done extensive editing to mine. Is there a new compilation this release? It only makes sense to update that info.
to reflect newer tool substrates and coatings. Get rid of a lot of that HSS stuff in there.

I have noticed something that should be passed on to
Gibbs and co. as a candidate for improvement. More attention to detail needs to be paid to the structure of how this works. It seems that the .dll (if that is the trigger/switch) associates the tool size only to the depth of cut, rather than the tool material. This a no no.
Here is an example:
I have a 1/2 carbide emill that's going to cut 1/2 inch deep in austenitic SS.
I have (in the data) a 1/2 carb emill cutting 1/4 inch deep in austenitic stainless, but NONE cutting 1/2 inch deep.
I also have a HSS emill cutting 1/2 deep in austenitic stainless.

When I push the "Speed" and "Feed" buttons it's gonna grab the High Speed info. first.
I hate that.

It needs to look at tool material BEFORE it looks at depth of cut.
But then again......I'm justa programmer

This has always been a problem. The issue you talk about is minor compaired to the others. Well, talk about them later.

As for your question, NO there are NO changes to the data base. Same one as always. There is however an option in the preferences to read from a number of databases and define the path to them. So, if you have one or more that you have modified, you can change between them on the fly.

This could or couldn't be of help!!

I have 2 update seminars on the 11th and 13th. They should go very well.
