Like the title says looking for comments on this lincoln gas powered welder. It is currently listed in the swap sheet here. Need to know what people think of this machine, haven't talked to the seller yet but it could be 20 years old.
What is the repair situtation like on this vintage welder and their accompaning motor? Any comments on experiences with arc quality or other field issues would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Save the cash and buy a 13hp Honda motor, and a welder from http//:www.zena.net
I use the zena and it is the smoothest, easiest starting arc I have ever had.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into that in a bit, as it is the welder apparently sold. I was looking for a MIG but the price on this whole unit was comparable to what I've been seeing for MIG welders of any capacity.
Now that you have mentioned such a combo what specific model engine and welder/generator did you get? I'm not agianst stick just that the place I'm living at currently wouldn't handle a single phase DC/AC stick welder very well at all. (need a new electrical service) Atleast not a conventinal transformer type, my budget doesn't provide for an inverter based model at the moment. Not being familiar with Honda, I have to ask do they have industrial rated motors? Also would the Zena work with a desiel.
Thanks
