My tool guy brought by some 1/4-20 and 10-24 thread forming taps from OSG. I believe they are TiAN Cobalt Hypro froming taps. My question is do I use the same speeds and feeds as I normally would for a regular tap or are thier special speeds and feeds. I will be cutting 6061 aluminumm .5" to 1" deep. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Use the same speeds and feeds . Just your tap drill size will change.

Faster, at least double. Thats the beauty, they are FAST, no chips and a stronger thread.

I just purchased several thread forming taps but can't find a drill size chart for the taps. Any idea where one mind find that info?

Also, what about an RPM recommendation per tap size?
