Pathfinder:

I like using the pathfinder tool because I can draw a rectangle then start a path in the middle of a segment by picking and showing direction of travel.

Also pathfinder makes it easy to navigate through a maze of conneted lines where there are choices of which direction to take.

Pathfinder converts circles to two semi-circular polylines by selecting the desired quadrant then dragging to show direction.
