View Full Version : Hot-Wire Cutter Software Alonson 10-01-2003, 10:23 AM I need Hot-Wire Cutter Software. Where can I buy ? cbcnc 10-01-2003, 03:04 PM Hi Alonson, Try here. Maybe it is what you want. MM2001 (http://www.teaser.fr/~abrea/cncnet/elec/mm2001/mmx.phtml) Chris djmrozin 02-15-2004, 09:28 PM Check out FoamWorks 2.1 The demo can be downloaded from www.foamwork.net Dave Mrozinski www.foamwork.net Mr.Chips 02-15-2004, 10:49 PM Will a cnc controller work with foam cutting software? Hager djmrozin 02-16-2004, 04:32 AM Depends on the controller. Foamworks communicates using the parallel port and it provides step and direction pulses to the control board. If they communicate this way, there is good chance it will run. Dave Mrozinski Bilbobaker 08-07-2005, 04:31 AM I use Guilles Mullers software and like it very well. It's called GMFC. http://gm.cnc.free.fr/en/index.html Bill JerryFlyGuy 12-03-2005, 03:07 PM Curious about the MM2001 Board. I've actually had one for several years and just never put it together. One issue I have is .. I don't speak french and of course all the info published for the board is in french. Does anyone know a link that has these in English? Also, have others had good sucess with this board? I'm thinking maybe I'll build it and give it a try.. JerryFlyGuy erase42 12-19-2005, 09:24 PM HI Jerry, i did build a mm2001 as my first cnc/stepper project ever and had 100% success. There is a file i found that had all the info and schematics reworked into english. I cant remember where it was, but I still have it here if you want it. Send me an email and ill answer any questions i can for you. Erase42@aol.com ED DaniSaez 03-02-2006, 04:00 PM Hi Alonson, you should try the CeNeCe PRO, you can download a demo version at: http://www.cenece.com - CeNeCe official site http://foro.cenece.com - CeNeCe official Forum pedidospro@cenece.com - Orders and license management pro@cenece.com - Technical Support Youy can use with allmost any controler, as you can set it up in the program. Best regards, Dani Tranced_1 03-02-2006, 04:16 PM English version of the MM2001 can be found here: MM2001 English version (http://gm.cnc.free.fr/en/interfaces.html) vulcom1 03-03-2006, 09:29 AM You can also do a search on yahoo group for cnc foam cutting. I am in the process of finding all the parts and the pic chip for the mm2001 I first got found out it would not work. You can also read about the software and then make up your mind which one to use and also get help. After you could inform all of us which way you are going on cnczone. The more knowledge to me for learning the better as I want this as my first cnc project. John Porschet70 05-02-2006, 11:47 AM Hi all, I'm very new to this cnc foam cutting. I have many new chips at my shop to use in this project. (sla7078mr, sla7075mr, or sla7052m) But I don't have a schematic.. The motors I plan to use are Vexta PK245-03A-C13 2phase 1.8*/step 12 volt dc .4 amp. I have 4 motors. I also have many Microchip pic chips. No programmer but lots of chips. I need a little help, please. Maybe if someone had a schematic and needed some chips we could help each other????? E-mail me at James.Malis@AKSteel.com with any advice... Thanks de plume/pseudonym 06-04-2007, 04:23 PM I wonder whether vinyl cutting software can be used ? ANYONE KNOW ? vulcom1 06-04-2007, 05:53 PM As a followup on what I mentioned before on searchs for software. Some of the operating systems for example GMFC, Jedicut, use a board with a timer built in. Jedicut is free and I think it is the one I will eventually go to. Foamworks does not need the timer so it will run on a regular 4 axis setup. The cost for GMFC to me is prohibitive for cutting a few wings. Foamworks is $46 US which is more reasonable. I just completed my system and I made it using the Hobby CNC Pro 4 axis board which is a kit. I am running Foamworks on the demo version and need to get the key in 20 days. My left and right stations are made with 2 ball drawer slides spaced side by side and 2 opposite for the uprights mounted on 4ft. shelving. My steppers are 84 oz. and the leadscrews 3/8"x16 tpi run very smooth. I did not use the foamcutter board they sell as I am going to convert my mill/drill shortly and my cables plug into the rear of my PS which is 24volts 32 amps which also runs my heat for the bow. I am going to purchase the timer addition to give it more flexability for software. My system is not a direct copy of anybody's but a gathering of what I have found on the web. I have only dry cut so far but will try some foam probably tonight to see if I have any problems. If anybody has any questions I would only be to happy to help. This is my first jump into CNC and when the steppers rotated I was a happy camper. John High Seas 06-05-2007, 06:07 AM This might help - but you didn't say what you wanted to cut. A few months back, a fellow based in Malaysia "gave/listed/presented" his software here on the 'Zone. It is based on excell 2003 (Office2003) and does wings, ribs, text, images. I played with it and am encouraged to do some - but first I gotta find/get a board. I don't have the link - would have to search for it - but you might do that as well... Jim Here's the link - it was the next thread down http://www.excelcut.netmyne.com benergy 01-27-2008, 04:37 PM Im looking for a utility or basic software for converting dxf files (usually text) to gcode for foam cutting on cnc table (no taper just basic 2d code) so i can select where the entry and exit points of the inside of letter and so on. I use sheet cam but seems laborious for foamcutting toolpaths.... any ideas or advice regards Benergy salvaCNC 02-03-2008, 10:50 PM I think it can only be done manually. Just use a good CAD program to do it as quickly as you can. No software will edit text for you since you have to choose entry and exit points. esawyja 02-28-2008, 01:16 AM Hi, I use DESKCNC to convert to G code from the dxf file I saved using AutoCad. DESDCNC has a nice foam module for tapered cuts as well, see http://www.poly-cor.com/ funflyri 04-14-2008, 12:52 PM have you tried going to alldatasheet.com thay have the data sheet for the driver ic that you are using. |
