Hello All,
I have recieved a couple of files from a potential customer. For some reason my Bodcad won't open the .igs file. It comes up with this error:
Start section:
Entity not processed, type 406, directory #1
Any Comments?
The same company sent me the same file in .MC9, .STL, & .X_T.
Anyone have any ideas on what programs these may have been created on? How can I open them?
Thanks
Newbie
Artoo, I have a bad feeling about this.

For some reason, this post reminds me of all the Lucas jokes that go along with owning an MG.
Recommended procedure before taking on a repair of Lucas equipment:
Check the position of the stars,
kill a chicken and walk three times sun wise around your car chanting:
" Oh mighty Prince of Darkness protect your unworthy servant.."

Seriously though, it is a good program for the money.

The MC9 file is from mastercam v9

The MC9 is a Mastercam.
The STL is a sterologhraghy file format.
the X_T is a Parasolid model format.
I can open any of them in MC.
Newbie,
ask the customer if he could save the files in AutoCAD 2000 iges(works very well even with BobWire!). Sometimes iges files corrupt or doesn't process correctly when importing them into BobCAD.

You can try this also
take the *.mc9 and just rename it to
*.igs and then try and read it into bobcad
I know this sounds not right but try it
it worked for me a couple of times for me
when i brought a file into bobcad from mastercam
anyway good luck
if you still have problems email me and i can send you a
program veiwer that opens iges files so fast and then you can save it in igs format again and you would be very impressed with
how much it cleans up files that bobcad has trouble with sometimes
