It is done! I know I'm 2 days behind promised schedule but there were simply too many bits to put together, too many different sizes of screws that I simply had to miss some, go back, buy some more, go back, find out I need some more etc etc.

It is not as stiff as I would like it to be but the idea was to build this and use it to re-build itself.

I had taken a video of it running but since my phone camera is silly resolution-wise you can't really see anything. Pictures to follow later on.

Thanks go out to all those who encouraged me to finish, it really was a dead-end and was it not for you guys I'd still be sitting here with only ideas and pretty pictures on the computer monitor. :wave:

ok here's one for starters.

a can od wd40 for size (and a cordless in the background).

do you think my Z is a bit, well, big? basically it was easiest to just make 3 sets of everything and hope it doesn't deflect too much.

p.s. what do you think will the laserjet army be able to cope with any cuts at all? I was thinking of adding a 2nd stepper on the opposite end of the leadscrew (spinning in opposite direction of course) - would that double the available torque?
