Let me start this by stating my version number. 2.0.0.05 and I am using a first generation control board with xylotex stepper drivers and vectra powermax II steppers. The power supply is 24v 6a. The computer is a P2 800 mhz running windows 98.

I make use of the foamcutter portion of the software and Im noticing that the machine travels at a higher speed when cutting the lines between my defined shapes. Its not a LOT faster but its fast enough to cause the wire to drag at times between shapes, while the cutting speed of the actual shape is perfect. Any ideas?

Thanks

Upgrade to a recent version of DeskCNC and see if it makes any difference.

You can set your rapid rate at the fastest rate you want to cut and then when it rapids betwen shapes, it will be the same speed.

Fred,
When you say "set your rapid rate" do you mean the max velocities setting in the velocties or is there a setting that im missing somewhere? And if so, does that mean that i can no longer make use of higher speeds to move the machine to any desired positions?

Ps Im afraid to upgrade for fear of some other unforseen problem. Are the newer versions 100% compatible with the 1st gen board?
