Hi, after the "Hoping it Works" project (6' x 12" work area), I embarked on building my 14" x 32" moving gantry style. The mechanicals are completed and sliding bind-free with the THK rods (1" and 0.75") and pillowblocks and THK linear rails for z.

I'm using a Xylotex 4-axis box, Mach2, double-stack 2.3A PowerMax2 on the x and y axes and P2 single stack for the z. Anti-backlash nuts for 8tpi x and y(0.625" screw for x and 0.375" for y) and 5mm (5.08tpi)ball for z.

Jog mode moves continuous and smooth with a nice motor hum BUT when I run test programs... the motion goes in segments. Doing a 10 cm square, the axis motion does 1 cm move then pauses for less than a second before proceeding doing the same cm cut then pause action. Tried different part programs including the spiral test in the Mach2 manual but all did the same segmental motion. Also fiddled around with the motor tuning but it just made the segments shorter or longer. What to do? :drowning:

Add a G64 to the start of your code, or go to Config>State and set to Constant Velocity Mode, instead of Exact Stop.
