Like to know if I got a diamond tip dresser and fab it on a tool dolder
would that be a good thing dor making dies are is this a pipe dream.

Sorry, I run a cnc lathe in a toolroom and was wondering if
I got a arbor to mount a grinding wheel on is it possible to but a good or complex profile on the wheel, as long as the dresser was programed right.

Apart from spreading abrasive dust all over the lathe, the biggest problem I can see is ensuring the wheel runs true on the grinder. Most wheels are shaped with an optidress or similar mounted on the grinder, so it is guaranteed to run true. Personally I would not even try it, but that’s not to say it can’t be done.

Yep it will work . At work we had an old cnc lathe we put compicated profiles
on 20 inch grinding wheels for general electric. The trick is the arbor must be
machined in the lathe so it will run dead true we just left it in the lathe
and also the grinding wheel must have its wheel hub mounted on it. Don't take the wheel hub off . Also us lots of coolant to keep the dust down.
